A native of North Carolina, Dr. Brewer was recognized as an All-American lacrosse player in high school before attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At MIT, he was a four-year starting goalkeeper for the Engineers lacrosse team and earned dual degrees in Chemical-Biological Engineering and Biology. He completed his medical education at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where his interest in cardiac surgery first took root.

His training at Stanford equipped him with exceptional proficiency across all domains of adult cardiac surgery.

Since completing his training in 2017, Dr. Brewer has developed a high-volume, high-acuity cardiac surgery practice in Northern and Central Valley California. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a volunteer faculty member in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, where he contributes to the education of future cardiac surgeons.
